The Prince’s Countryside Fund visits the Suffolk Show
June 1, 2022
We were delighted to attend the Suffolk Show, where we were very kindly hosted by the CLA for a drop-in breakfast.
We had a terrific time talking to so many people about our work and it was great to see some of our beneficiaries too. Hearing about their progress highlighted just how important it is to support such vital community projects in rural Britain. We had the pleasure of speaking to Lightwave, a Farm Support Group in Suffolk that’s involved in our Farm Support Groups Initiative. They are an agricultural chaplaincy offering over the phone and in-person support to people living and working in rural Suffolk. It was incredible to hear about how they have been able to reach so many who struggle with their mental health, worry about their family farm, or just need someone to talk to, and provide them with often crucial help.
We then had a chance to walk around the show and see all the fantastic stands and displays, including a wonderful array of livestock. It was a real pleasure to be out and about again, seeing the great British countryside and all those who make it so worth protecting.
