The Fund’s work fortified by The King’s Ginger

December 23, 2020

The Prince’s Countryside Fund is thrilled to announce their three-year partnership with Berry Bros. and Rudd, who are supporting the Fund through the sale of their iconic liqueur, The King’s Ginger.

Established by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, The Prince’s Countryside Fund exists to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life. First launched in 1903, The King’s Ginger has received a makeover for its 117th birthday – and Berry Bros. & Rudd are donating 10% of the profit from each bottle sold to the Fund.

In 1903 the Royal Physician became concerned about the monarch’s health. So, he called on Berry Bros. and Rudd for a solution, a high strength liqueur that would warm and revivify His Majesty. Crafted from ginger, (for centuries celebrated for its medicinal properties) The King’s Ginger was born.

Mathilda Hill Smith, Brand Manager said: “We are delighted to be partnering with The Prince’s Countryside Fund with the donation of 10% of our annual profits of The King’s Ginger. Both The King’s Ginger and The Prince’s Countryside fund are committed to the sustainable future of our beautiful English countryside. The Fund’s impressive and honourable work maintains and strengthens the UK farming sector and helps secure future viability of small family farms and rural communities.

“The King’s Ginger has been enjoyed by many in the English countryside since 1903 and through the work of The Prince’s Countryside Fund we can raise a glass to many more!”

Keith Halstead, Executive Director of The Prince’s Countryside Fund said: “We are so pleased to partner with Berry Bros. & Rudd and would like to thank them for supporting our work. We think The King’s Ginger is warming and heartening – an ideal winter aperitif for a cold day, especially if you are having to meet your friends and family outside (rules permitting) over the festive period.”
