SEAS Farming Conference
November 21, 2022
On Wednesday 16th November the PCF attended the South of England Agricultural Society’s Farming Conference.
The PCF has been South of England Agricultural Society’s (SEAS) Charity of the Year for 2022, and attended the South of England show in June. This year, the subject of the conference was ‘We need to talk about food’ and the panel, chaired by the BBC’s Charlotte Smith, was formed of Henry Dimbleby, Judith Batchelar, and Tom Gribble. The lively conversation lasted over two hours with the audience, both in the room and online, asking a lot of questions.
We were delighted to be there as well to witness our Trustee, and President of the SEAS this year Elizabeth Buchanan winning the Royal Smithfield Club Bicentenary Trophy. The judges of this award voted unanimously for Elizabeth to receive this prize, in recognition of ‘the way she devotes her time to fight tooth and nail for British agriculture’.
We would like to thank SEAS for having the PCF as your Charity of the Year, helping us to raise vital funds and awareness of our work.
