Royal Cornwall Show 2019
June 10, 2019
Despite the weather, The Prince’s Countryside Fund enjoyed a successful visit to the Royal Cornwall Show on Friday 7th June.
There was a fantastic turnout at the NFU Mutual stand for a breakfast event to celebrate The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.
After tucking into breakfast, everybody was welcomed by Ruth Poulten, CSR Consultant for NFU Mutual, and Claire Saunders, Director of The Prince’s Countryside Fund.
Following this, there was an honest and thought-provoking Q&A with two of the farm businesses who have taken part in the Programme in Cornwall: the Poad family and Nigel Gribble. This was led by David Fursdon, Lord-Lieutenant of Devon and Trustee of The Prince’s Countryside Fund, whose questioning gave the audience a real insight into the Programme. The Poad family spoke about how the Programme had brought them together as a family and Nigel Gribble spoke about how we must work together as a sector, not just as individuals.
As well as his participation in the Q&A, Nigel recently appeared on BBC Countryfile to share how the Programme had benefitted his business.
