Our new Farm Advisory Group
February 21, 2022
The newly established PCF Farm Advisory Group had their inaugural meeting on 15 February.
Replacing the PCF’s Farm Resilience Programme Steering Group, the Farm Advisory Group will play a crucial role in shaping our work programmes under our strategic aims of Enabling Family Farms to Thrive and Encouraging Productive Agriculture that is in Harmony with Nature.
The group will meet quarterly and is chaired by Allan Wilkinson, Head of Agrifoods at HSBC UK Bank plc. Among its members are several PCF Trustees and representatives from organisations including NFU Mutual, the Livestock Auctioneers’ Association, the Country Land and Business Association, Morrison’s, AHDB, and McDonald’s.
There was plenty to discuss at the meeting, with the two key papers focusing on delivering PCF’s Resilience Support to family farms, and the joint PCF and Food, Farming & Countryside Commission research project on financing natural capital projects, funded by The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund. The group were very generous with their time and their contributions, which will greatly help to shape our charitable work.
