HRH The Prince of Wales meets beneficiaries in Lancashire

Our Patron HRH The Prince of Wales met beneficiaries of the Fund during a visit to Dewlay Creamery in Lancashire. To celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary HRH The Prince of Wales unveiled a commemorative plaque after meeting guests.
On arrival HRH The Prince of Wales met Steven Holmes and his fiance; Janet Towers. Last year Steven was awarded a Land Rover bursary to help him set up his new business Farm Yard Ales. The Discovery Sport has been invaluable in helping him promote their company and now the building work for the brewery is completed on farm they hope to have their first casks ready for sale by early May.
Later on HRH The Prince of Wales met with six students from nearby Myerscough College. The college has been awarded two grants to date from the Fund. The current project is to help students access training and complete courses particularly when it is key for them to have certification to find work. One of the students who spoke to HRH The Prince of Wales had just had his application approved for a £250 voucher to help towards his training costs and will soon be enrolling on a trailer towing course.
