Booths at the Farm
August 6, 2018
To show their support for National Countryside Week, our corporate partners Booths invited customers to visit their producers in a series of visits - Booths at the Farm!
Farmers and producers opened their gates to groups of Booths customers in support of the Fund, giving an insight into how their products are sown, grown, and produced. Guests were given exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ tours to learn about the produce, and taste the great British countryside at its best.
Visits were held at:
Poulten Bees – the first time that the bees had been unveiled to the public.
Furness Fish – guests learnt how to peel and pot traditional Morecambe Bay potted shrimp.
Croftpak – the only UK nursery growing delicious San Marzano tomatoes.
Mrs Kirkham’s – guests were greeted with fresh baked scones and given an exciting tour of the cheese making facility and dairy.
Wensleydale Creamery – the butter making process was demonstrated and more than 20 types of cheese were available to sample.
Spilman’s Strawberries – guests were given a tour and allowed to pick their own raspberries and blackberries.
Farm Yard Ales – former Land Rover Bursary winner Steven showed visitors around their brewery and provided samples of their eight beers.
Thank you so much to Booths for organising such a wonderful program of visits, to the producers for opening up their farms, and to Booths customers for supporting the Fund!
