RCF says farewell to Elizabeth Buchanan
March 18, 2024
Last week, The Royal Countryside Fund acknowledged its appreciation to Elizabeth Buchanan CVO FRAgS as she stepped down as a Trustee after fourteen years on the board.
Heather Hancock, Chair of Trustees said: “Elizabeth has made the most extraordinary contribution to The Royal Countryside Fund. She was absolutely central to the charity coming into being, to realise the vision of HM The King, when Prince of Wales, to support and empower small farming businesses and rural communities in the face of unprecedented change. Elizabeth has served as a Trustee for 14 years since that foundation, providing exemplary leadership and focus, raising awareness and encouraging donors, and using her deep insight into the realities of rural life and farming to shape our approach to community grants and our farming programmes, not least the landmark Farm Resilience Programme. She leaves a deep and lasting legacy on The Royal Countryside Fund for which we are and always will be grateful.”
Elizabeth has been involved in all areas of the charity’s work, sitting on the Grants Sub-committee, the Development Committee, Nominations Committee and the Farming Advisory Group and has steadfastly championed the work of the RCF to everyone she meets. From all of the staff and board at The Royal Countryside Fund, thank you Elizabeth!
