Great Yorkshire Show 2019

80 guests attended from all over Yorkshire and neighbouring counties, and ranged from past, present, and future members of The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme, to grant recipients and corporate sponsors of the Fund. The breakfast, kindly hosted by NFU Mutual, celebrated the fourth year of The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme.

Joanne Cribb, Senior Manager at NFU Mutual, opened proceedings saying: “Our farms and farmers continue to face an uncertain future, which is why I think The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme is such an incredibly important scheme. Not only does it provide practical support, the tools and the information to farmers about how they can get the most out of their businesses, but it also looks to prepare farmers for upcoming transition and to ensure they are in the best possible position to face upcoming changes.”

She then introduced Beth Summers, Programme Manager from The Prince’s Countryside Fund, who gave a brief overview of the Fund and announced the launch of the fourth year of The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme, with particular emphasis on the group to be based in the Skipton/Otley area.

Robert Spensley and Grace Bryant, two farmers who are currently taking part in the programme, were interviewed by Edwin Booth, Chairman and CEO of Booth Supermarkets. They went on to explain the ways they have benefited from the programme and why they would recommend it to others.
